Because of Covid-19 along with so many other companies, we had to change the way we approached our business. Emily was recommended by a friend to create a series of video clips that would create a contact-free fundraising campaign that our schools could use for this fall. Emily was great to work with. She listened to what information we needed to include and the video clips she created were concise, creative, and entertaining. We were on a tight timeline and Emily finished with final edits on our video clips well before we needed them. Emily was a pleasure to work with and we hope to use her talents in the future.

About Me
I’m Emily Macke and I’m a creative soul!
Early on in my career, I got some advice that shaped my approach to creative design. That advice was to always have an answer. I initially thought, well that’s silly, what if I don’t know the answer? What I quickly came to realize is, it didn’t mean making something up on the spot. It’s meeting with your client, doing research into their brand, and understanding the problems they’re trying to solve. As a creator and strategizer, I’ve got the answer to your problem.
I’ve been working with brands for nearly a decade to develop creative video and motion design packages that tell brand stories and connect with customers. Throughout the course of my career, I’ve won several awards for my creative direction and motion design and love working both as a leader and a team member.

I worked with Emily for over a year at Bodybuilding.com and exclusively on a number of video projects. Not only did she always jump in head first to my crazy ideas, she led the charge from not only the creative side, but managing a project through from start to finish. Emily is extremely thorough in every detail, considering every bit of feedback, and more than willing to try new things for the sake of testing something out. She was always game to take a small concept – no matter how silly it was – and give it creative life in a way that truly represents how much she knows about trends, what works for social media video and how to amplify content in an informative but fun, visual way. I truly miss working with Emily every day and having that go-to for idea brainstorming and creative concepting. She is a true artist in her field.

My Process
01
Consult
My process, like many others’, begins with a call/zoom/coffee shop meeting to understand your needs and determine what problem you’re looking to solve. Together we’ll come up with a set of goals for the overall project.
02
Research
Before any design or planning is completed I like to fully understand your brand. I want to know how your brand speaks to its’ customer, what you define as your style, and who your target customer is.
03
Concepting
During the concept phase, I work with trusted team members (video editors, audio engineers, designers, cinematographers, etc) to create mood boards and style frames that both reflect your brand’s voice and solve your problem. These assets are iterated upon and go into pre-production only when we’re satisfied that concepts meet the goals we’re looking to achieve.
04
Production
Now we take those plans and put them into action. Video shoots are completed along with post-production. Motion design sequences are built off of style frames and revisions are addressed as various iterations are reviewed. Deliverables become available and we can start testing to ensure that goals are being met!
